3 ways to make cozy Season (winter) incredible

The new year is upon us and the air is still cool.

Here are our THREE favorite things to do on a retreat when it's chilly outside. Cozy szn in Kentucky rules!

1. Have a campfire. Evenings come early in the wintertime, making it the perfect season to have an early-evening campfire. We've found that some of the best reflections and conversations happen around a flickering flame. Pair it with friends/family, a good book, and/or a campfire dinner for an experience you'll remember forever. As the fire dies, shift your gaze upward and soak in a night-sky covered in stars and go to bed feeling peaceful and replenished.

2. Take a hike. Winter is our favorite time to hike. Not only are there almost no bugs, but the cool air will invigorate and refresh you as you walk, allowing you to go for longer distances than you would in the summertime. You'll be greeted by sweeping valley views and will be able to see so much more of the forest with the deciduous tree leaves being gone. (It also gives you a reason to use any cool new clothes you might've gotten over the holidays!)

3. Cozy up and read/write. This is a great season for introspection. Retreats break the rhythms we become accustomed to in our daily lives and open up our minds to more creative ways of thinking. Getting outdoors and taking time for self-care is extra important at the start of a new year, as we leave the holiday season and get 2025 started. Enjoy reading, journaling, and thinking in a beautiful setting, curated specifically for individual and group retreats. Allow yourself to follow the natural rhythms of the earth, resting and reflecting in winter before blooming in the spring.

You deserve some me time! Spend a day reading, writing, thinking, and reflecting on your year. Surrounded by gorgeous forest.
